In my spare time other than the hobbies listed below I'm in my fifth year of study for an Open University B Sc Degree, covering mainly computers and electronics.
I spend as many of my weekends as possible helping fit out a yacht. So far this has been an 8 year process, with the vessel hopefully touching water for the first time this year. For those of you who may be interested, it is a 43 foot cutter rigged vessel, built in steel based on a Laurant-Giles design in fibre-glass. The Interior of the boat is being fitted out to cater for four people in comfort.
One of the passtimes that I have to make time for is walking. Having said this I either walk or cycle to work everyday. The thing I have to make time for is hill walking, in the past I've walked the South Downs Way and in the Southern Peak district.
I enjoy cycling, mainly concentrating on off-road, although I
have done the London to Brighton cycle ride, in aid of the British Heart Foundation,
a couple of times in the past.
If you live in the South East of England and enjoy cycling then something
worthwhile doing is trying out a recumbent. These can be hired from
