We've found the mains electric hook-up very useful. It's available on many British and European sites and uses a 16amp cable to plug into power on site. This provides 2 13amp sockets which take standard appliances, such as a hairdryer, electric kettle or additional heater for cold evenings. The zig unit controls the power from the mains and the leisure battery. It charges up the leisure battery whilst you are driving, or using mains hook-up, and also prevents accidental drainage of power from the main van battery, which is useful if you want the van to start in the morning! Next to the zig unit there's a mains socket, a 12v socket, the water level gauge and the water pump switch, as well as a couple of fuses and a circuit breaker in case of any electrical faults. |
