Iron plate action shooting or I.P.A.S, is the latest and ultimate action shooting discipline, designed specifically for the multi shot Co2 and Air cartridge pistols.
The discipline relies on two basic principles, Accuracy and speed. To be successful in this discipline the competitor must be well rounded in both these key principals.
For example it is not enough to be super accurate without speed, and speed alone is nothing without accuracy, after all it’s not the first shot that counts, it’s the first shot that hits that counts!
History
IPAS has been set up by Graham Wilkes and Steve Taylor, to fill in their opinion, a gap in the action shooting events available for the new breed of Co2 Air-Pistols. It is hoped that this discipline will catch on and become popular with other Air Pistol clubs around the UK.
The ideas that went into the final format come from established full bore disciplines being participated in the USA, also a similar style was preposed by another Shooting Club in Scotland but to the best of our knowledge this was only used by that club.
