The Computer

After playing around on a whole bunch of 386 computers, my girlfriend and I decided to go and purchase a real computer. What we ended up getting was an ex-demo laptop. The specification of which is;

The DEC's Specs
Pentium 100 processor
265 mm TFT Colour screen
810 MB Hard Disk
Multimedia Expansion tray (w/CD & audio)
2 Type 2 PC Card slots
Added by us; 33.6 TDK modem, 10/100 NIC
8 MB Ram (now 40 MB)
It does have it's little quirks, much like anything else in this world, but it has served us well. You can find more info about these computers at DEC's site.

The Software

The Computer is operating under MS Windows 95 (love them or loath them) it is the easiest answer. The pages were created using Netscape Communicator 4.0. It certainly did the job for a beginner like me, though it does have a few points that seem to rub me up the wrong way. For a download of the software go to Netscape's site. I also used an acquisition software with the camera, called PhotoWallet. It was an OEM shipped package with the camera. It certainly did the job, and I would love to try the Pro version of their software. Then again there are a lot of things that I want to do. You can find more info about the acquisition software from NBA Quality Systems Ltd.

The Camera

Well it was the bees knees as far as I was concerned. It was my first time with a digital camera, and it just blew me away. Know all I have to do is find away to get £300-£400 to buy one of my own. Though if someone has the odd £16,000, I wouldn't mind test driving one of the top of the range cameras.

The camera it self is nothing exceptional, by current standards. I can certainly see were the improvements in digital camera technology are going to come. The frame speed will go up, the battery life will go up (2 hers on 4 AA batteries), the cost will come down, Please!.

All of the pages on this site were written with the above Digital HiNote Ultra II. The pages were composed using Netscape Communicator 4.0. The photos were possible with the assistance of Ralph Ehlers, and his wonderful little Sanyo digiCAM.
