Ian Daniels

Born in 1955, Daniels never quite found his niche, his work displaying his essential lack of confidence in anything he did. While heavily influenced by Bacon's work, his paintings were too eclectic and lacking in focus to argue for a position of their own in the ruthless lottery of the art establishment. Nevertheless, he produced the occasional arresting image - such as the well-captured portrait of his Father, who died when the artist was fifteen.
