OIL PRESSURE GAUGE INSTALLATION
The Stag
was never designed to have an oil pressure gauge. The "Keinzle" German
clock was obviously cheaper!
If you
can bear to part with the clock (not a difficult decision in my case, it
didn't work properly), this mod is well worth it.
Below
shows the gauge installed into the dashboard. This is the easy part. I
think the gauge looks very in keeping. It should look even better in a
MKI car, where all the other needles point down.
Fitting
the Adaptor piece allows the retention of the Oil Pressure Light. This
job is a bit fiddly with the engine and exhausts in place.. Be sure not
to overtighten any of the tapered threads.
A small,
but significant improvement. The standard plastic ones do not last long.
If any of them snaps, you will lose one throttle! The car will still run
ok, believe it or not, but not much good at higer revs! Note the yellow
device attached to the carb, this is only present on the very last Stags
made, of which mine is one.
